Operating principles to guide the policy Places and times (if any) that smoking is permitted Provision of smoke-free rest areas Arrangements/provisions for smokers(litter bins/external ash trays) Arrangements for visitors or members of the public who visitthe premises Contractual obligations or conditions – time allowed for smokingbreaks, clocking on/off, additions to working day to equaliseworking time with non-smokers Complaints procedure Consequences of failure to comply Support for smokers who wish to quitThe policy will need to be regularly reviewed after implementation. Procedures should be set up to review the policy, ensure compliance and resolve disputes.
