Care Services

There is little that causes as much anxiety and distress to patients and their families as a diagnosis of cancer. In Northern Ireland, one in three people will develop cancer during their lifetime and there are almost 9,000 new cases each year.

At UCF, we are here to help, especially at those difficult times. Whether it’s a listening ear, a source of information or putting you in touch with a fellow patient, we are dedicated to providing a range of services and information to best suit your needs.

A diagnosis of cancer touches many people, including family members and friends, and that’s why we provide advice, support and assistance not just for patients, but for all those affected by cancer.

There are currently 39,000 families living with cancer in Northern Ireland. Our services are provided free of charge and many take place at our new service centre, 40-44 Eglantine Avenue, Belfast. We are located close to the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital and we can provide a haven for cancer patients and their families, as they undergo treatment.

If you have any concerns about cancer please contact our Information and Support Helpline on 0800 783 3339 or email .  Callers speak directly with a cancer information nurse who specialises in providing information, support and advice.  Calls are free from all landlines and the helpline is available Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
