Description – A one hour training session addressing cancer prevention and early detection issues.
By the end of training, participants will have an understanding of the risk factors and key issues in cancer prevention strategies. Early signs and symptoms will be addressed and support mechanisms identified.

A 2-day training session to raise awareness of cancer and introduce the Vision Health resource within local communities.
The course will examine personal and public attitudes to cancer; raise awareness of cancer including prevention, treatment and control; introduce the Vision Health resource and outline how to promote cancer awareness in the community.

Over two days, this course examines personal and public attitudes to cancer, provides information on all aspects of cancer as well as examining support mechanisms for employees and how to increase awareness of workplace health promotion programmes.

This course covers 5 health issues – healthy eating and physical activity; smoking cessation and prevention; alcohol misuse; sun awareness; body awareness and sexual health.
The course is aimed at introducing the cancer prevention message into schools, youth and community sectors. It can be delivered as a one day course or in five 2 hour sessions. It is based on the Need2Know resource pack, provided to all participants. Participants will be trained to use the resource as a basis for discussing health education messages with young people.
