UCF first awarded a grant to the University of Ulster in 1981 and our subsequent support has led to the establishment of the Cancer and Ageing Research Group and the Radiation Science Research Group. Both of these groups are made up of internationally recognised research scientists with collaborative links to leading cancer centres throughout the world. The international excellence of their research was recognised by attaining the highest possible rating in a recent National Research Assessment Exercise. We have supported the work of these groups by a combination of grants and research studentships.
Current UCF funding is supporting a cancer research programme in the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences entitled ‘Understanding and Supporting Men with Cancer’.
