Our Against Bowel Cancer campaign runs throughout the month of April.
There are around 1,000 cases of bowel cancer diagnosed each year in Northern Ireland accounting for approximately 20% of all cancers.
Our 2006 Against Bowel Cancer campaign, supported by Merck Pharmaceuticals, focused on raising awareness of bowel (colorectal) cancer, the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Northern Ireland.
We highlighted easily achievable dietary steps, which help to reduce the risk of bowel cancer, such as eating a diet rich in fruit, vegetables and cereals; eating less fat, reducing your intake of red and processed meat.
Don't forget that we're never too young to start to adopt healthy eating patterns.
