Cancer Prevention


Many Cancers could be prevented by healthy lifestyle and public policy. The Foundation's work to prevent cancer is carried out through innovative methods and aims to reach all sections of our society.

We have developed public cancer education and prevention programmes that are models for action throughout Europe.

Aimed at young people:

  • 'Get Sunwise'
  • 'Smokebusters Club'

Life style programmes for adults:

  • Stop Smoking groups
  • Men's health
  • Women and cancer
The UCF works with doctors, nurses, dentists, teachers and other professionals on training programmes and publications to improve knowledge of the causes, prevention, treatment and care of cancer.

We have been at the forefront of the battle against tobacco use in our role as "Action on Smoking & Health (ASH NI)".
