The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) is celebrating the opening of a new charity shop and information point at 429 Woodstock Road, Belfast.
This brings UCF?s shop network to total of ten across Northern Ireland and will be the first UCF shop in the Belfast area to sell clothing, books, bric-a-brac and an extensive range of furniture, all under one roof.
Hilary Hayes, UCF Shops Co-ordinator said, ?Our shops have received incredible support from local communities across Northern Ireland. We are delighted to be expanding our shop network as they provide a vital source of income as well as raising awareness about UCF?s work in the community.?
UCF?s shop network has grown from five to ten shops in the last three years and they aim build on the support from the community and volunteers to open a further two shops next year.
Hilary continued, ? UCF offers a comprehensive retail training programme up to level 2 for any trainees or volunteers who are placed with us.
?Our shops are a great place to pick up a bargain. We pride ourselves not only on the quality and range of our goods but also on sensible, realistic prices, so our customers get value for money and our work gets the support it deserves.?
As a local charity, UCF depends on the support of local people to help stock their shops with resalable items. This in turn generates the income needed to continue to develop care services for cancer patients and cancer prevention programmes which can help save lives in Northern Ireland. If you have any unwanted household items as well as furniture please contact Marlene at the Ulster Cancer Foundation on 028 9049 2007.
