Connemara Marathon ?– Register Today!
By Derval Keenan, 2/2/2006 2:28:09 PM

The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) is calling all sporting enthusiasts to register for the International Connemara Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 26th March and is set in one of the most spectacular locations in the world!

This is an exceptional event set on the remote but breathtaking West Coast of Ireland. It offers participants the opportunity to run a half marathon, a full marathon or you can test yourself to the limit and register for Ireland?’s only On-Road Ultra Marathon which covers a challenging distance of 39.3 miles.

The ?‘Connemarathon?’ has become a world-renowned international event with over half of the entries from foreign participants. Demand for places is competitive. There is a limit of 2,000 entries across the three races to ensure that the event retains an intimate atmosphere that fits with such a remote location. So why not register today while there are still some places left and help raise vital funds for UCF to help local people affected by cancer.

An entry fee of £100 secures your place and participants are asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £400. This cost will include travel to and from Belfast, 2 nights hotel accommodation in Connemara, transport to and from the race start and of course the unique craic enjoyed in the West of Ireland where everyone will celebrate your success.

To book your place simply contact Neill Grainger, Senior Development Officer, UCF on 028 9066 3281 or neillgrainger@ulstercancer.org before the entry date closes on 24th Feb.
