Ulster Cancer Foundation Breast Cancer Raffle 2004
By Derval Keenan, 11/10/2004 3:27:58 PM

Leading local charity, the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) is encouraging people throughout Northern Ireland to take part in this year?s Breast Cancer Raffle to help raise vital funds for cancer patients and their families across the province.

There are a number of great cash prizes for £1000, £500, £250 as well as other top prizes including a portable TV, DVD player and a Landrider Mountain Bike.

Deborah McWhirter, Direct Marketing Manager, UCF said, ?October is a very important time of year for us, both in raising awareness of breast cancer and funds to continue our work, which relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and the support of local people.

?The UCF understands the very personal and individual nature of how a diagnosis of breast cancer and dealt with and is there to support and reassure women during what is often a very difficult and worrisome time. We offer a wide variety of information and support for women throughout Northern Ireland including ? Breast Cancer Support Groups Meetings, Specialist Bra and Swimwear fitting service for mastectomy patients, freephone cancer helpline, professional counselling, beauty therapy, art therapy classes, awareness campaigns, and cancer research funding. All money raised during this campaign will enable us to continue our work here in Northern Ireland.?

UCF have teamed up with the Travel and Leisure Club to offer a great incentive and thank-you gift for helping people living with cancer in Northern Ireland. For everyone who sells two books of tickets, Travel and Leisure Club will give you holiday discount vouchers worth a total of £350. These vouchers can be used with a variety of holiday operators including late availability offers. The only conditions are that you must book the holiday through ROL holidays and you can only use one voucher at a time.

Deborah continued, ?The UCF would like to thank everyone who has taken part by selling tickets to family and friends and we would encourage anyone who would like to purchase tickets or become a ticket seller to contact Lisa at UCF on 028 9049 4470.

?Tickets are priced at only £1. Please remember to return your tickets in time for the closing date, 28th Oct 2004. The Breast Cancer Raffle prize draw will take place on 29th Oct 2004 and prizewinners will be contacted by UCF after this date. Thank you for your support and good luck!?
