Popular broadcaster Angela Rippon was the guest speaker at the UCF?s Pink Ribbon luncheon, marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
It was the fifth year of the event in Belfast and was held in the Europa Hotel.
The luncheon is a flagship event in the UCF?s provincewide campaign to raise funds and during October we hoped to raise £250,000 to help combat breast cancer among Northern Ireland women.
Joyce Savage, head of appeals and marketing, said: ?Incidence of the disease has increased, but thanks to earlier screening and better treatments, the number of deaths has fallen and survival rates have improved.
?We want to see further improvements and we will be spending more money on research and on extending our care services.
?Our commitment to raising awareness of breast cancer is ongoing and we will continue to promote the message that early detection and prompt treatment can save lives.?
Earlier in October, UCF?s first Pink Ribbon Luncheon in the west of the province was a sell-out.
More than 300 people came to the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen and had the opportunity to meet Beechy Colclough, the Belfast-born therapist, and UTV personality Kate Smith, who is originally from Belleek.
