Update in the West

UCF is holding an information evening in Derry/Londonderry on Thursday 21 March to update people on cancer services in the Western Health Board area.
The meeting in the Waterfoot Hotel will start at 7 pm and will be open to the public.
UCF chief executive Arlene Spiers will make the introduction and other speakers include Dr Bill McConnell, director of public health with the Western Health Board; Dr Gerard Daly, lead cancer clinician at Altnagelvin Hospital; and Paula Cunningham, the hospital?s project manager for cancer services.
M/s Spiers said: ?We are very grateful for the support we have received over the years from people in the west of the province.
?The foundation remains firmly committed to helping cancer patients throughout Northern Ireland, either in hospital cancer units or in the community.?
Other UCF staff who will speak at the meeting are Sylvia Lucy, recently appointed development officer in the West; Joyce Savage, head of appeals and marketing; Ruth Campbell, head of care services; and Naomi Thompson, cancer prevention officer.
