Rock Hill Music Productions presents a special tribute concert to the legendary Bob Marley, on Saturday 11th February, in aid of the Ulster Cancer Foundation.
Headlining the concert is Natty Wailer, formerly of Bob Marley and the Wailers, now with his own band, The Reggae Vibes.
Natty Wailer explained, ?We wanted to pay tribute to Bob in a special way at what would have been his 61st birthday. Bob died in 1981 at 36 years of age from malignant melanoma. This concert enables us to remember and celebrate Bob?s legacy while contributing to the vital work of the Ulster Cancer Foundation.?
Neill Grainger, Senior Development Officer, UCF said, ?We are delighted that Natty has chosen UCF as the beneficiary of the concert. It is shocking to think that one in three people in Northern Ireland will be diagnosed with cancer. All funds raised for UCF are spent in Northern Ireland and help us to continue our work, providing care services and information for all those affected by cancer.?
Natty will be performing many Bob Marley classics along with a mixture of songs from his recent album ?Lifted? and showcasing a selection of tracks from his new acoustic reggae set.
Seasoned musician George Jones from BBC Radio Ulster will be performing and the concert will also feature Breag, the Belfast-based reggae band.
A number of CDs, kindly donated by HMV will be raffled during the evening.
The event will be held at the Octagon Suite, King?s Hall, Belfast. Tickets cost £15 and are on sale at Ticketmaster, Virgin Megastores and UCF Shops. Doors open at 7.00pm.
