The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) will be holding a conference on Thursday 22nd September at the McWilliams Suite in the Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast.
Guest speakers include Dr Michael Morrin, Specialist Registrar at Belfast City Hospital who will be providing an update on lymphoma management and treatments.
There will also be an opportunity to hear the inspirational Sean Swarner, a two-time cancer survivor.
Alan George, Head of Care Services said, ?Sean has a truly remarkable story to tell having been diagnosed with the fourth and final stage of Hodgkin?s disease at the age of 13 and given three months to live.
?He recovered only to be diagnosed with a tumour on his right lung and this time was given just two weeks to live. A decade later and with only partial use of his lungs, Sean is the first and only cancer survivor to scale Mt Everest. He is keen to use his accomplishment as a way to spread cancer awareness and his story is an inspiration to all.?
The conference is open to all those affected by cancer, their families and health professionals. The event is free of charge and starts at 6.30pm with registration/coffee and will finish by 9.00pm. If you would like to attend please contact Eileen Creery at UCF, Tel 928 9049 4472 or email eileencreery@ulstercancer.org
