All Ireland Corporate Games Return to Belfast
By Derval Keenan, 2/3/2005 4:41:43 PM

Following the very successful Inaugural Games in September 2004, the 2005 All Ireland Corporate Games was announced at a President?s Reception at the Belfast Hilton today.

Games President and Founder Dr. Maureen Johnston hosted the function, which was attended by the Games Sport Patron ? current Ulster, Ireland and British Lions winger ? Tyrone Howe.

The 17-sport festival for businesses and organisations throughout the island of Ireland is attracting participants from across the UK and Europe. It will be held June 24-26, 2005.

Heavily supported by the Belfast City Council and major sponsors, the unique mix of sport, business and tourism is expected to inject more than £1million into the city and region.

Participants in the recent Games included some of the best known companies in the British Isles, including BT, ASDA, PWC, Vodaphone Ireland, Xerox, Zurich, Merrill Lynch, Fujitsu, Bank Of Scotland and many more. All are planning bigger teams for 2005.

Ulster Cancer Foundation has been named Official Charity for the All Ireland Corporate Games and is expected to reap considerable benefit from the association.

Participation Manager for Belfast 2005, Felicity Croft, said that support of Ulster Cancer Foundation by the teams and participants was one of the best possible means of contributing to a truly worthwhile cause.

?It is a great chance to enjoy all the fun and spirit of the Corporate Games and at the same time support the work of one of the most important of all charities,? Croft said.

?In addition to the many sports offered, the Games features a Great Games Party themed for 2005 as Bonnie and Clyde and Circus Circus - or come as you are.

?It really is a tremendous opportunity to build team spirit, support health and fitness in the work place, meet clients and be part of a great event?
