Young people in Northern Ireland who give a no-smoking pledge can win a holiday or cash prizes.
The Ulster Cancer Foundation is leading the Just Be Smokefree initiative with support from the European Network on Young People and Tobacco (ENYPAT).
The project will allow the Ulster Cancer Foundation to support young smokers who want to quit while encouraging nonsmokers to stay smokefree.
Young people here aged between 14 and 25 who pledge not to smoke between 12 March 2003 (No Smoking Day) and 12 April 2003 can take part in a draw offering five prizes of £200.
And there is a bonus for the person whose name is drawn first - a chance to compete against teenagers from eight other countries to become the overall European winner, with the prize of a holiday in Europe with a companion.
Application forms for the competition can be obtained from the Cancer Prevention Department at the Ulster Cancer Foundation, 40/42 Eglantine Avenue, Belfast BT9 6DX. Tel 028 9066 3281. Forms must be returned by 11 March 2003.
