Cancer Registration Scheme

N. Ireland Cancer Registry

The Ulster Cancer Foundation is committed to continuing our financial support. For the past 10 years (approximately) the establishment of the Cancer Registry was a priority for the Foundation and, to this end, we invested many thousands of pounds.

In 1999 our core support for the Registry ended when the DHSS (NI) assumed financial responsibility. The UCF then agreed to continue our commitment by funding an appropriate programme of cancer research within the Registry in the form of an annual Ph.D. Studentship. The current project is 'Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma in Barrett's Oesophagus', (3 years, 2001-2004).
