What is it all about ?

The Aims -
The aim of the project is to help young smokers to quit smoking and non-smokers to stay non-smokers.? We hope the project will be influential in getting young people to talk about smoking as well as putting it on the agenda of parents, adults and health professionals.

Young people (16-25) years (the age groups vary slightly in each country) are asked to enter the competition by completing the application card.? The materials are disseminated through schools, youth clubs, health centres and places where young people of this age group spend their time.

Rules -
Each participating member state will organise the competition in its own area.? Smokers are able to participate in the competition if they are willing to quit smoking for three months.? Non-smokers are able to participate in the competition by deciding not to start in the next 3 months.? After a 3 month period there is a lottery for those who succeed either to quit smoking (draw A) or to stay non-smokers (draw B).? All national prizewinners will enter a draw to produce an overall European winner.

Materials -
The materials, which are available for participants, are competition cards, leaflets, postcards, Internet pages, quit guides and magazines.? All material will give information on the rules of the competition, encourage quitting/ staying non-smokers and gives some information on smoking and tips especially for quitting.
